In the years since her debut, she released numerous albums. Of those albums three reached number one on the US Billboard 200. The other albums came near the top. She is among the top artists to made it through American Idol. To be successful she played around with various musical styles, and explored themes. Because of her uniqueness and skill as a performer her work was recognized by the media and received a number of important award. Her most notable achievement was that she received 3 Grammy awards. She has also appeared in movies and on television. She also co-wrote the children's storybook River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and has been involved with a number of charities.
